Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway reunite in the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated follow-up to The Devil Wears Prada.
The Oscar-winning actors are reprising their antagonistic roles for Devil Wears Prada 2 set for release next summer.
Strree, who was Oscar-nominated for his role in the magazine editor Miranda priest in the original, has not appeared in a film since 2021’s will not watch. He also recently signed with Star Next to Sigourney Weaver in Useful Idiots.
The pair will be joined by returning cast members Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci with Kenneth Branagh joining the cast of newly married priests. The film will also feature Simone Ashley, Rachel Bloom and Lucy Liu and reported cameos from Lady Gaga and Sydney Sweeney.
The sequel, directed again by David Frankel, can be seen facing the challenges of the magazine industry, now forced to build bridges with a tatto assistant with a luxury brand and the cost of advertising.
The original 2006 comedy, based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel, made over $326m at the global box office. It later turned into a western ending musical.
“When we made the first movie, none of us expected the meteoric life it would have and the impact it would have on people,” Blunt said back in September. She added that it also “had deep emotional roots” for her and Tucci who later became her brother-in-law.
Priesthood is widely known to have been inspired by Anna Wintiur, the outgoing editor-in-chief of Vogue. Winterour recently talked about the original film and said that saying “there’s a lot of humor. [and] They are all amazing. In the end, I thought it was a fair shot. “
The shoot attracted the attention of photographers and fans around the world with locations from Brooklyn to Milan.
The film also marks a Big Year for Hathaway who will also appear alongside Michaela Coel in Pop Star Star Maria Maria, a film with original music from Charli XCX. She will also star in Colleen Hover Axity Tomersation with Dakota Johnson, Sci-Fi Thriller Foullevale Street with Ewanopher Nocgregor and Christopher NOLAN Odan McGregor and Christopher Nolan
The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be released in a summer full of sequels including Scary Movie 6, Toy Story 5, Spider-Man.
