The US Pop Star is back to his acting habits with star plans and will make a musical movie inspired by Alice in Wonderland, according to several US outlets.
The unknown project was created for Universal Pictures and will be written and directed by US Filmmaker Scafaria, reports claim.
BBC Newsbeat has contacted representatives of Carpenter and Universal for comment.
A ‘busy girl’
It’s not clear who will cap the adaptation or when it will go into production.
If it goes ahead, it will be Carpenter’s first time leading a major studio film.
The 26-year-old singer is said to have approached Universal last year with ideas for it.
As surprise became a reality, Scafaria reportedly decided to join in on the madness.
Writer and Director Scafaria is best known for his work on Hustlers, a 2019 film starring Jennifer Lopez about a crew in New York City.
Carpenter was recently nominated for six Grammy Awards, including the coveted album prize for his seventh album, Man’s Best Friend.
Now he is on the last leg of his short sweet tour, which includes Two headline shows at the BSON Festival in London this summer.
The upcoming film isn’t the first time he’s gone down the acting rabbit hole.

Since then, he has appeared in netflix films working on it and tall girl, as well as 20th century fox you give.
More recently, he was announced as a “guest star” in an off Muppet Show special for Disney+, which will premiere in 2026.
Previous Alice in Wonderland versions include Disney’s 1951 animated movie and Tim Burton’s 2010 with Johnny Depp as the maid.
The story comes from Victorian Author Lewis Carroll, who first published Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland as a children’s novel in 1865.
It tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down the rabbit hole and lands in a fantasy world of talking animals and creatures.
