Getty Images / BBCThe Prime Minister said the BBC needed to “get its house in order” if mistakes were made, but gave his support to the existence of “a strong and independent BBC”.
Sir Keir Starmer spoke after the director of the Broadcaster’s director general and head of news resigned following an edit of a speech by Donald Trump and other Editorial issues.
The prime minter did not directly respond to a question urging him to ensure that the US president does not get “one penny from British Lister Payers with $1BN (£762m).
Sir Keir told the House of Commons:

The Chairman of the BBC Samir also apologized for the “error of judgment” that saw Panorama editing the two sections of the Day of 6 January 2021 Capitol in a “direct call for violent action”.
In the Commons on Wednesday, Sir ED also called out the Prime Minister’s Sck Board Member Sir Robbie Gibb, who is the head of Communications, who he parked a “conservative crony”.
In response, Sir Keir refused to comment on the “individual run of the BBC”.

Changes to the BBC’s Key Committees

A spokesman for the BBC said: “We are examining the letter and will respond directly to the appropriate course.”
