Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Daisy Cooper said the crisis of BBC provides an “opportunity” to “take all the people who are political teachers”.
According to the PA News Agency, Cooper told BBC 4’s Today programme:
We liberal Democrats do not think there should be any political appointees and we would like to see legislation to restore an independent appointment process for the BBC board.
the St. Albans MP added:
I think this BBC crisis gives us an opportunity to clean up the BBC and make sure we can protect freedom in the future.
If you look at the independent editorial decisions made on particular stories, there’s no doubt in my mind that the BBC has, on many occasions, been quite slow to correct them.
But I think in the end it’s an opportunity, this crisis, and the way we protect Pobc, to protect all people who are political teachers.
Trump says he has an ‘obligation’ to report the BBC
Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the ongoing offense of BBC such as Donald Trump claims the broadcaster has “The public was deceived” and he has “Obligation” to take legal action to edit a speech.
Director-General Tim Davie stopped Sunday amid criticism of the editing of a speech by Trump before the attack on US Capitol On January 6 2021 in an edition of Father in law which was initiated last year before the 2024 presidential election.
The President of the United States stated his threat to Launching a $1bn Legal Action During an interview with Fox News. He said:
I think I have an obligation to do it, you don’t let people do that.
I think I should. They fooled the public and they admit it. It’s inside one of our allies allies, so our allies [the UK].
That’s a good sad event. They changed my January 6 speech into a beautiful speech, which was a calming speech, and they made it sound radical.
The edit suggests what Trump said most:
We will walk to the Capitol and I will go with you, and we will fight. We fought like hell.
The words were taken from sections of his speech about an hour apart.
A legal letter, from Trump Counsel Alexander Britonrequested that “False, misleading, false, and inflammatory statements“Trump’s part is done again right away.
The letter says that if the BBC “does not comply”, the President “will be left with no alternative but the equitable provisions, which is not to file legal action for 1,000,000,000 dollars in damages”.
