California governor calls Trump 'an invasive species' at Cop30 climate talks | COP30

The Governor of California Gavin Newsom says that Donald Trump is an “evaluator of the species”, in a fiery attack on Climate Change in Brazil – where Trump and his administration are completely absent.

Newsom is the most senior American politician at the Cop30 Summit in Belém, after Trump took the unprecedented step of not sending a delegation to the talks. Newsom sought to fill the notorious void in the US by lambasting the President for abandoning climate policies and pushing more fossil fuels that cause dangerous global warming.

On Tuesday, it emerged that Trump changed plans to open the coast of California for the opening of the coast of Florida the California coast will open, but he doesn’t want the California coast to open, but he doesn’t want the California coast to open, but he doesn’t want the California coast to open, but he doesn’t want the California coast to open, but he won’t do it.

Accusing Trump of an attack on the climate and on democracy, Newsom said of the President: “He is an invasive president in the development of the last century. He is doubling down on stupidity.”

Trump called the climate crisis a “CON JOB” and urged countries to remain dependent on coal, oil and gas, and to withdraw their climate policies if necessary to buy more fossil fuels.

The Republican president refused to send any representatives to the COP30, where countries are planning new financial targets and climate finance.

Newsom said that Trump’s change in climate policies and withdrawing the US from the Paris climate agreement is “bringing it to a world of solar production like solar and wind.

“You know who’s cheering, singing his praises? President XI of China,” Newsom said. “They’re sitting back and dominating supply chains, because they know the huge opportunity in clean energy.”

NEHELTOM, a Democrat who became the governor of California in 2019, is going to an alternative delegation of the US to Cop30 that includes subnational US officials who are still starting to deal with the climate crisis.

Newsom is one of 24 governors who are part of the U.S. Congress, a group of states that represent more than half of the U.S. population and have expressed support for climate action.

This group of Motley did not listen to the left government of the government of Belém, however, and the other leading figures of the talks are not yet the Trump administration.

Christian Figueres, former Secretary of the Executive of the United Nations Convention on climate change, said on Tuesday that the absence of the talks “is actually a good thing”.

“Ciao, Bambino,” was his response to the US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement.

In a press gaggle, Newsom said: “That’s a hell of a statement coming from the mother of the Paris agreement.” Given the behavior of the Trump administration at an international maritime meeting last month, where officials brought foreign leaders to those who supported a shipping sign, the presence of the US could be a threat, add the presence of the US.

Trump’s absence “creates an opportunity” for local leaders to come to the fore on climate policy, Newsom said.

“What’s on the road will be the way. This is an opportunity for us at the local level to prove ourselves,” he said. “He took. So I took.”

Newsom is considered a leading candidate for the democratic nomination for the 2028 presidential race. While he said he would not be swayed if he ran, he emphasized that Democrats must face the debate on the cost of development in light of repeated climate disasters.

Joe Biden tried to sell his climate policies as a boon for jobs and the economy, a pitch that failed to cool voters. Biden then dropped out of his struggling election campaign, with Kamala Harris losing the trump card.

“Climate change can be abstract,” he said. “We need to talk in terms that people understand. It’s about people, places, styles and traditions. If we start winning people over.”
