Bots and third parties have been banned from booking driving tests as part of a Government crackdown on a severe backlog of nearly 670,000 students booked into practical tests.
The Department for Transport (DFT), which recently consulted on how to crack the suspension of the sale of test photos of the previous prices themselves and not their teachers can make bookings.
The government also said there will be a new limit on the number of changes a student can make to a driving booking – including transfers, changes before they need to be canceled and renewed.
Student drivers are also limited to a limited number of test centers located near the original booking.
“It is good to see the measures put in place to stop the tests of earnings,” said the director of the organization’s drive. “Candidates stuck in the queue should at least be reassured that they aren’t being elbowed aside by those simply seeking to make a quick buck.”
In October the government moved to make more driving test slots available in the backlog, with agency figures showing 668,128 people had a practical test by the end of September. It stood at 579,138 a year ago.
Trials can be booked up to 24 weeks in advance, with new slots released on a rolling basis.
The secretary of transportation, Heidi Alexander, said in April that her department aims to reduce the waiting time for driving by 2026. The figure is at the end of September.
However, he has since told MPS on the transport pecnect committee that the seven-week target will not be met next summer. The DVSA recruited 316 new examiners but Alexander said that resulted in a net gain of 40 because some left. Driving examiners will be given a “continuation payment” of £5,000 from next year to try to keep it on paper.
The DFT also announced on Wednesday that it would call in military examiners to help address the backlog.
The Ministry of Defense (MOD) will provide 36 defense testers across England next year to take the 6,500 extra tests that will be taken each year.
The mod said the examiners, made up of civilian staff, will help conduct driving tests one day a week.

New examiners will be sent to driving test centers with the most acute need and can also take vocational tests for bus drivers and bus drivers and drivers.
“We inherited a large backlog of students ready to spin their l-plays who unfortunately endured hours of waiting time,” Alexander said. “Every student should have an equal and fair opportunity to take a test.”
Military vehicle examiners usually test service personnel, disguised as automobiles as well as fuel tanks and armored carriers. Al Carns, the Minister for the Armed Forces, said that the second probes had no effect on military operations.
The government is starting to see an increase in the number of tests being conducted. In September 168,644 tests were carried out – an increase of 14% or about 20,000 – in the same month last year.
However, the pass rate in September was 49.9%, which came from 50.7% in August and represented a six-month low.
