Nine of the 12 victorious European Ryder Cup teams competed on the Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth course this week. Liv’s Viktor Jon Rahm and Norway’s Viktor hovland are absent.

Austrian Sepp Straka was granted a dispensation to stay away because he wanted to be with his family after the early birth of his son before the Ryder Cup.

The scheduling schedule to win the race in Dubai showing 10 counting events, of which four are noble; The masters, US PGA, US Open and Open Championship.

If he has finished in the top two of the season finale, the 36-year-old will not be caught. Penge, who has played in 25 counting tournaments, needs to be tied for second or better to have any chance at the title race.

If the 27-year-old Englishman still wins he still needs to go to Mclroy than the runner-up and if sharing the city with the second rival is to finish outside the top eight.

Hatton, who is third in the standings, is the only other potential winner this season. Buckinghamshire Star must win this week with Mormroy finishing outside the top eight and the smell missing by a share of second place.

So the likely permutation points to another title race in Dubai for Mcilroy, which would be his fourth success of the season in a row.

“I want to do it again,” Mciliration said.

“You look at my third title race in Dubai in 2015, and there was a big gap, but in that gap, I won three FedExcup titles [on the PGA Tour].

“It’s almost like I’m ahead of the pack a little bit. I think I said to do ‘OK, what are the things I want to do for the next 10 or 15 years of my career’, and one of those is trying to get ahead of this tour a little bit more.”

Since missing the cut at the 2021 masters, Mcerroy has posted 11 top-eight results at majors, including his shock win at Augda in April.

He acknowledged that the performances in the tournaments have been instrumental in his current run of success in Dubai.

“It’s thought of to play better with the nobles,” he said.

“Because as a double member of two tours, to have a chance to win you have to play well in the bigger events.”

Montgomery-Holder Montgome, who won seven orders of merit in a row from 1993 to 99 and an eighth of the year of the European Tour.

A lot has changed since – and not just the arrival of a title sponsor for the Wentorth-based organisation. However, Mcilroy believes that the Scot’s record has been suppressed.

“I think it’s amazing to have that appeal for that long,” said the Northern Irishman. “There are a lot of people who have had a good year or two runs.

“But to keep it going for seven years straight, maybe it’s not talked about enough.

“Especially in the golden age of the European Gofolan in which he ascends [Sir Nick] Faldo and [Sandy] Lyle, [Bernhard] Tall and woosie [Ian Woosnam].

“I’m not saying it’s not a very good generation, but he’s going to have to watch out for some tough competition.”
