BBC and Plaid Cymru Relations Need Review, Reform UK Says

UK reform calls for a “relationship review” between the BBC and Plaid Cymru.

CAI Parry-Jones, a spokesman for the reform, promoted the leader of Papulo, Rhun AP Ierswerth, and Director of Political Strategy, Aled Ap Dafydd, both work for the BBC.

His comments came after Nigel Farase accused the left wing of the left wing because the interim director of countries, Rihundans Richards, is a former chief executive of plide.

A BBC spokesperson said: “Rihunedd Richards has been working for the BBC since 2018 and has been director of WBC Wales since nations.

“Rihunedd has always been open about his career history and is fully committed to maintaining the BBC’s impartiality.”

Richards began his career as a reporter with BBC Wales and filled the PLEPED EXECUTIVA between 2011 and 2016.

He returned to the BBC in 2018, becoming director – or head of – BBC Wales in 2021.

He took up his current role in June this year.

Speaking in the Senedd on Tuesday afternoon, the Welsh Conservative Culture Culture Gareth Davies said that all the focus of the public is that Wales provides a balance in political elections that provides a balanced coverage of all political parties”.

He added that it was “right” that Tim Davie and Deborah Turness announced their resignation.

“Michael Prescott’s report did not uncover an institutional problem other than bias at the BBC and he was forced to leak the Dossier because the BBC board ignored it.

“So, it’s important that trust and accountability are restored to the BBC, and if there are similar problems that exist in Wales with the BBC, that they are recognised,” Davies said.

In response, the Welsh Government’s business manager – the Commissioner – Jane Hutt said that trust and accountability in the BBC was “absolutely important.

“We enjoy a strong relationship with our broadcasters here in Wales, and of course that is something that is very important to our democracy and our participation as a clear,” he said.

A spokesman for BBC Wales said: “Our news in Wales Wales and across the BBC is fully committed to all relevant audiences of all relevant political parties.”

Earlier, responding to NIGEL’s accusations that the BBC was infected with a left-wing bias, Rhodri Williams, former director of Ofcom, said BBC Radio Cymru’s Dros Frecwast The claims are “totally unreasonable and unfair”.

“I think it’s sometimes oppressive, but the truth is that if you work for the BBC you have to meet the audience in the eye and say ‘I’m neutral’.

“It’s never what you do privately or what you think privately that matters, it’s what you do professionally.”

Mr Tait, who is also editor of BBC Newsnight and Channel 4 news on the BBC’s Editorial Standards Committee they have yet to fire ahead.

“What they have to do is convince the audience, which is basically still sympathizing with them, that they are truly impartial as I know they are.”
