Defender Marc Guehi is expected to miss the last two CUPLO games in England after suffering an injury in the Stiweek League’s Cryweek conference that left him unable to walk.

Boss Voser Glasner confirmed the extent of the injury on Sunday ahead of their Premier League home clash with Brighton, saying Guehi would miss the game with “a heavy bone bruise”.

The incident happened at the end of the 3-1 victory over AZ ALKMAAR on Thursday as the Palace captain believed a yellow card for a bad card.

“He couldn’t sleep at night, it was very painful and the next day we checked him and it was a heavy bone bruise,” Glasner told Sky Sports.

“He’s been walking on crutches for the last two days and can’t even walk on his leg.

“Fortunately nothing is broken, but at the moment he can’t even walk in the England games, but after 10-14 days he will be able to return to training and be able to use again.”

England, who have already qualified for next year’s World Cup, face Serbia at Wemble on Thursday before playing Albania in Tirana on Sunday.

England players are due to report for duty on Monday, and Guehi was selected in Thomas Tuchel’s squad on Friday alongside Juan Siyedter, Ezri Konsa and Jarell Qansa.
