A woman who claimed to be Madeleine McCann has been found guilty of harassing the girl’s family – but has been cleared of the charge.
Julia Wandelt, 24, a Polish National, made numerous calls, left messages and disappeared from the Portuguese Holiday Resort of Praia Da Luz in 2007, the Crown Court heard.
Wandelt was found guilty after a four-week trial of harassing the family between June 2022 and February this year.
The jury found Wandelt not guilty of stalking, while partner Karen Spragg was found not guilty of stalking or intimidation.
