Championship side Bristol City – owned by Guernsey Resident Steve Lansdown – Scott’s early development after an impressive start to the seniors in December 2019.

“It’s chaos,” Scott said. “The first day I trained with the under-18s, the second day I trained with the first team, which was a complete conversion.

“On Wednesday I play for Guerssey FC in London, travel back and on Friday, I play for Bristol City Under-18s and a Trick Trick for a contract.”

Within 18 months, despite being a few days short of his 18th birthday, he made his senior debut against Luton.

Scott went on to make 83 league appearances for the Robins as a teenager, often used as a wing – and occasionally as a number 10 – such was his fitness and versatility. Even at that young age and playing from that position he was their best player.

With his ability to carry the ball forward, and with his socks rolled around his ankles, he took the nickne of ‘the jacked jacker’ Jack Malipayon.

At the end of the 2022–23 campaign he won the Young Playership in the EFL Championship, was selected in the Division’s team of the year and was named Bristol City player and young player of the year.

“There is no doubt about that, I think he will play for England and I think he will go to the top of the game,” said Nigel Parson, Scott’s manager at Ashton in May 2023.

Less than three months later, he joined Bournemouth for a reported fee of £25m.
