Reformist NIGEL Farage has suspended a member of Kent’s “flagship” County Council as Party councilors were thrown into a leaking meeting that revealed bitter tensions.
The departure of Isabella Kemp, who also worked as a data protection officer at the reform HQ, means the Party has lost nine of the 57 councilors elected in May’s local elections.
The latest uproar comes after the Guardian published a recording of an internal meeting where council leader Linden told reform partners they should “if they don’t like his decisions.
Four councilors were suspended shortly after the leak. One of those and others suspended on various allegations now form a group of “independent reformers” in the council.
Kemkaran addressed a full council meeting on Thursday about Kemp’s real-world impact on the Senior Cabinet and Public Cabinet Committee.
The liberal Democrats, the second largest group with 12 councillors, asked Kemkaran to reinstate Kemp, who now sits as an independent, as chair of the important committee.
Another effect of the suspension of the reform of its councils was felt last month by a committee, which prepared to ask at least seven families that they should have supported their children. It had to be canceled because its seat was one of Kemkaran’s suspensions.
Kemkaran himself was in the mix of Thursday’s conviction, likening his experience to that of his son, who he said had completed military training and was “beaten”.
