BBCA number of referrals are made to the government’s anti-terrorist program that will prevent the year until March 2025, according to new data.
A total of 8,778 referrals were made – 27% from 6,922 last year.
The majority of referrals are made for individuals with no “known ideology” – at 56%.
It is followed by extreme ideology at 21%, and then Islamist extremism at 10%.
Children aged 11-15 represented the largest proportion of referrals where the age of each person was known, at 36%.
Deterrence is the government’s plan to divert people from terrorism.
