A liberal backbencher refused to endorse SUSSAN LEY as leader, stating that he “lost support” Between the support of the opinion and bitter emission of Net Zero Remissions.
Conservative Victorian Senator Sarah Henderson told Sky News on Friday morning she was “unable to support those things at the moment” but hoped opposition could be brought around the situation.
Asked if Ley could handle the situation, Henderson said: “I don’t know.
“I don’t support things like this, and I’m desperate for us to do better.
“I think there’s a growing concern in our Party about where we’re going … the scary scary.”
When pressed on whether he thought things would be better under Ley, Henderson paused before answering:
He believed the comments were not an endorsement of Ley.

He later said he was not calling for a new leader before reiterating his view that Ley had “lost support”.
Speaking to reporters at Parliament House straight after the sky interview, Henderson doubled down on his comments.
“At the end of the day, we have to do better and I’m optimistic that we can turn this ship around,” he said. “I think a lot of my colleagues are very concerned about things going forward.”
Henderson is a faction opposed to Ley’s who was thrown out of the Shadow Cabinet after the election, meaning the criticism is unlikely to come as a surprise to the leader and his allies.
But the comments will nevertheless inflame internal tensions ahead of a series of crunch meetings next week to determine the Liberal and Coalition’s position on Net Zero Remissions.
Despite protests from liberal moderates, Ley is expected to follow the net zero nations that senior colleagues consider “poison” in the political debate.
The two leading opponents to replace Ley, Angus Taylor and Andrew Alie, both support left the target, putting pressure on the leader to follow.
Henderson declined to answer whether HiDie or Taylor would do a better job — but the senator strongly supports rolling back the Net Zero Policy.

The pressure on Ley’s position is also intensifying after the primary vote of the coalition fell to one Record-low 24% In the latest new newspoll – nine points ahead of a country by Pauline Hanson.
