Erica Mcroys was hit by a delivered beer can in Saturday’s Action in New York and her husband was the subject of continued abuse throughout the three days of the competition.

“It galvanized us and it really put our arms around each other.”
The 36-year-old Northern Irishman joined former open champion Shane on both Friday and Saturday afternoons in their upset.
Lowry continued in the hole ensuring Europe was unbeaten despite sparking a fightback in America in the final day’s singles.
“Honestly, I’m just happy to have Shane by my side on Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. He’s like a Big Brother without me being there for two afternoons,” added McLeroy.

Mcillroy is now targeting success here in Abu Dhabi as well as next week’s Season Finale at the World Tour Championship in Dubai.
He is on pole position for a seventh title race in Dubai but only holds a narrow lead in the standings over England’s Marco Peange.
“I remember trying to win my first race in Dubai in 2009 and going up against Lee Westwood for the last few events,” Mccrober said.
“I’m motivated and hungry and I really want to do it and I’m sure that’s exactly how Marco feels. So it’s going to be an exciting couple of weeks.”
When he returned to the Middle East, Mclroy was in a mirror consciousness after many successes in a year that began in the United Arab Emirates in the Classic Classic.
“I think back to the beginning of January 2025 when I was last here and everything that has happened since,” he said.
“Honestly, in my wildest dreams, I don’t know. I mean, I know a year like this is possible but it’s been an amazing 10 months.”
