The Metropolitan police have confirmed that officers are looking for a prisoner who was released in London wrongly last week.
A spokeswoman said: “Shortly after 1300 hours in the Med on November 4, the Prison Service released HMP Wandsworth on Wednesday October 29.
“The prisoner is a 24-year-old Algerian man. The officers are carrying out urgent inquiries in an effort to find him and bring him back into custody.”
