Online retailers Shein, Temu, AliExpress and Wish are being investigated in France in connection with the offense of minors accessing their platforms, PARIS Prosecutors said on Tuesday.
The National Consumer watchdog reported on four companies to serve the prosecution on Sunday after the development of concerns about the sale of people like Shein over the weekend.
The Paris office told the BBC that the platforms are being investigated for violent, pornographic or “undefined messages” that may be accessible to minors.
AliExpress told the BBC it was taking it very seriously. Shein, Temu and also wanted to contact the comment.
Shein and AliExpress are also being investigated for disseminating child-related content with pornographic characteristics, the office said.
The cases are referred to PARIS’ Office Des Mays, adding the prosecution service. The office is an arm of the French Police Force in charge of the protection of minors.
AliExpress said the question listings violated its policies and were removed as soon as they became aware of them.
“Sellers who violate or attempt to violate these requirements will be punished according to our rules,” Aliexpress said in a statement.
On Monday, Shein said it was banning the sale of all sex dolls on its platform worldwide. The Singapore-based retailer also said it will permanently block all seller accounts related to the illegal sale of baby dolls and place stricter rules on dolls on its platform.

Shein’s scrutiny comes as the company, founded in China, prepares for the opening on Wednesday of its first permanent physical outlet in France.
Protesters were seen gathered in front of the department store in Paris where Shein was scheduled to open the outlet.
Shein plans to open outlets in other departments of the French Department in cities including Dijon, Reims and Angers.
