The retired teacher and landlord from Bristol was wrongly arrested for Murder of Joanna Yeates in 2010.
Newspapers of the Great Group (NGN) made a claim in the High Court after Mr Jeffery took legal action against NGN in 2022 over alleged voicemail interception.

In his admission, Mr. Jeffery said that information about his private life was published between December 2010 and November 2011.
He also said the articles “had a damaging and lasting effect on him and his private life, including his standing in the community and his relationship with some friends”, the court heard.
The news of the world was closed in July 2011 following allegations that its reporters were involved in improper information gathering.
Mariyam Kamil, for NGN, said: “Here is the accused today, through me, to give forgiveness for the attacks on himself to people who work or for the news of the world.
“The Defendant acknowledges that such activity should not occur and has no right to interfere with Mr Jefferies’ private life in this way.”
