Van Dijk turned up at Amazon Prime’s Team Dinner and greeted all the Pundits – including Rooney – before standing next to the former England striker.

The interview began with the Presenter Gabby Logan asking Van Dijk to review the victory in DoGo after participating in the 19-1 participation in the 19-1 to improve the form.

Van Dijk: “It’s easy to say now because we’ve won twice in a row that it helps to go well and go through a lot of traction.

Logan: “You see anyone around here?”

Van Dijk: “No, not all but listen I think it’s very important to put things in perspective, keep your head, it’s not the issue. It’s not the issue.

Robbie Fowler: “Does the noise outside affect you or are you happy to flow, to do what you have to do and test people?”

Van Dijk: “I think all you know here is that you face a squad of 25 players, many young players like me in personal life.

Logan: “Is some of the criticism fair, do you think?”

Van Dijk: “Of course, if you lose four or five games in a row as a Liverpool player then it is a fair criticism, that is absolutely normal in that sense. But I think it is over the top at times as well at that point, but that is because we live in a world with so many platforms and so many people can say stuff, it will be picked up and made bigger. I think it is good that ex-players who played at the highest level who dealt with difficult moments as well puts a lot of sight (said with a smile that Rooney laughed at).

Rooney: “I didn’t say anything because I thought I was running them and putting them on a winning streak!

“I think what I’m saying is that it’s fair when you win the Premier League and then go on a run where you lose three or four games in a row, which you wouldn’t expect from Liverpool in the last few years.

“As VirGil is the captain I think that your opportunity to go and lead the players and that’s what I said. That happened in Football and in Tigpaingang that the response and team are good.”

Van Dijk: “I think if you watch the games then I will definitely take responsibility. I think the comment I signed my new contract and it’s my own opinion and I’m moving on.”

When the interview was over, Van Dijk caught up with Rooney and the rest of the Amazon Prime team before leaving the set.
