RabaeSir David Beckham was described by King Charles during a ceremony at Windsor Castle as “my proudest moment.
The former Manchester United and England star was joined by his wife – now known as Lady Beckham – and his parents, Ted and Sandra, as he was honored for his services to Sport and Charity.
Sir David, 50, wore a gray three-piece suit made by his fashion designer wife, inspired by a suit King Charles wore as a child.
The footballer said: “[King Charles] Very impressed with my suit. She’s the best dressed person I know, so she’s inspired some of my looks over the years and she definitely inspired this look. “

“It was something my wife did,” he continued.
“I looked at old photos of [King Charles] When he was young he was in morning suits and I was like ‘OK, that’s what I want to wear’ – so I gave it to my wife and she did it. “
Speaking about his honour, Sir David said: “I’m intolerant. People know how I – I love – I love my country.
“I always say how important the monarchy is to my family.
“I’m lucky to travel all over the world and everyone who wants to talk to me is our monarchy. I’m proud of it.”
Lady Beckham received an OBE in 2017 for services to the fashion industry, while Sir David was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003.
Sir David played 115 times for his country as well as for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Galaxy, Paris St-Gilan, retiring in 2013.
He also played a key role in securing the London 2012 Olympics, and has been an ambassador for UNICEF since 2005.
Sir David became an ambassador for the royal foundation in 2024, which supports King Charles’ education program and efforts to ensure young people have a greater understanding of nature.
RabaeOthers honored on Tuesday included Nobelist-Winning Novelist Sir Kazuo Ishiguro and West End Star Dame Paige.
Sir Kazuo, whose books accompany the rest of the day and 2005’s have not let me go, where he wins the man Booker Grieze.
Evita Star Dame Elaine received her honor for services to music and charity.
The 77-year-old wore a blue fur hat made by a milliner for the late queen and carried a bag designed by Lady Beckham.
He said he made the king laugh during their conversation, telling the Pa News agency: “The king had a quiet voice and he said to me,” Are you watching over me? ‘ After telling me, ‘I haven’t seen you in a while’, which is true.
“And so I said I’m watching my hand and that I’m actually starting a new album and I’ll send him a signed copy if he wants it.
“He thinks it’s great fun and laughs. I’m sure it’s not something he’s really interested in but I’ll send it anyway.”
The album features songs that grow on listening, including tunes from the Beatles and Joni Mitchell.
