Shanen Two stands for others in country music.
The absolute star of the genre used his acceptance speech For Sunday’s equal playing award, Sunday’s awards call for greater equity and diversity in the country’s music industry.
“When I wrote the phrase ‘man I feel like a woman’ I really didn’t know at the time that it was a sad decade,” he said, referring to one of his biggest hits. “Amazing how one statement can empower so many.”
The phrase, Duha said, “has been adopted by many wonderful communities around the world and has become a real path of power … which gives me great joy.”
“I believe in a whole lot of country music. We’re family,” Twain said. “It’s a genre of music with a rich history that nurtured and developed my own songwriting and performance and recording career from a young age.”
Twain, who presented the award to Rapper Megan You Stallion, shouted some of the different works that he was involved in with his “queen Eequey Whitters, Mickey Whitters, Mickey Guyton and others.
“I will continue to do my best as a trailblazer,” Twain said. “Together we will ensure that all our fellow artists get equal playing regardless of gender, age or race.”
He also performed Acappella with the group of American singers, Boutanz, while presenting an award Onstage. Two Two connected with the group, who are sisters and rising country stars, after Kelly Clarkson surprised them by bringing the two to meet During an episode of the Clarkson Daytime show.
