Axel Rudakubaana killed three children in a dance class in 2024

The brother of a Southport killer said his parents “lost control” of their son and feared his younger brother would kill another family member, a public inquiry heard.

Axel Rudakapan, then 17, killed three children at a Taylor Swift-Themed Dance Workshop on 29 July 2024.

The Southport Inquiry, sitting in the Liverpool Town Hall, heard the brother Dion Rudakubaca tell a friend that something could be fatal “.

The question was told that Dion told his friend on the discord messaging app: “Fights are scary because of the risk of someone dying”.

Dion said her brother reminded her of the Sociopathic Murderer in the movie There’s No Country for Old Men.

The inquiry heard Dion Rudakubaa finally spoke to his brother in 2023 when the killer threw a bottle at him

The inquest heard Dion was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disorder at the age of 12 which left him in a wheelchair and his parents helping him.

When asked by Richard Boyle, advice to ask, if he changed his relationship he said: “There is tension happening.”

Dion agreed that his brother appeared to resent this change.

He told the inquiry that after the family moved from Cardiff to Southport his brother’s moods worsened and he had “violent outbursts”.

The inquiry heard Dion “getting more and more” from his brother, who often hit him.

He said: “I have to be careful when I talk to him because any misunderstanding can spoil the argument.”

‘Serious Fear’

Dion said her brother became more violent after he was expelled from Range High School in Formby, Merseyside, in October 2019.

Dion left for University in 2022 and the brothers said not much “because he is not familiar with my environment”.

The question was told about a message sent by a friend in the dispute in which he said that his brother was disturbed by him talking at night because of the thin walls of their house.

He also told his friend that he was in danger “he’s doing something that could be fatal”.

He said: “Fights are fearful because of the danger of one who dies.”

Mr Boyle asked: “You have a serious fear that your brother will kill a member of your family?”

Dion replied: “If things add up to that point.”

Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe and Alice da Silva Aghiar were killed in the attack in July 2024

Mr. Boyle asked how his parents reacted to the attacker’s violent behavior.

“It doesn’t make sense to try and punish him,” he said. “Also, there is a grave risk in doing so.

“We said there’s a general danger to life in the general conversation, when you try to confront him … it doesn’t respond well.”

When Mr. Boyle asked if his parents lost control of his brother, Dion agreed.

When asked about his brother reminds him of a character from the film No country for old men, said Dion: “I was told that a sociopath and that’s why I used the word there”.

Dion said that the last conversation he will have with his brother will be in the summer of 2023.

He testified that their parents asked the killer to say goodbye to him as he left to see his friends and brother close his bottle.

The questioning continues.
